Things to do in Tagaytay

Been to Tagaytay countless times already? There are still things you haven’t tried yet. Here are places to visit and things to do in your next holiday.

Tagaytay is still the best option when it comes to spending holidays with friends and family. Especially today, there are many Instagrammable Airbnb houses for a staycation in this popular holiday town south of Manila. They're not only nice but affordable too (thanks to innovative services like Airbnb cleaning service that cut down maintenance cost)!. To add, there are also many activities to do, places to visit, and food to try in this city. All these while enjoying the cool climate.

You may have been to Tagaytay for a lot of times already, but there are definitely things you haven’t tried yet.

Also, every experience is different depending on the people you are with. Do you agree? Better go to Tagaytay than Baguio if you want a short drive somewhere and not up for a long travel.

Here’s a list of suggested things to do in Tagaytay for your next holiday:

Taal Volcano

By eating in restaurants uphill like Antonio’s, you can enjoy great food with the Taal Volcano in the view. This a complex volcano located in Luzon is the second most active volcano in the country. So far there have been 33 recorded historical eruptions all concentrated on Volcano Island near the middle of Taal Lake.

People's Park in the Sky

People refer to this as simply People's Park. Originally though, it is named Palace in the Sky. Interestingly, it is a historical urban park in Tagaytay, Cavite. Today, tourists visit it as an incomplete mansion.

Taal Lake

Want photos for your Instagram feed? You can never go wrong with Taal Lake. Originally, it is known as Bombón Lake - a freshwater lake in Batangas on the island of Luzon. This lake surrounding the Taal Volcano fills a large volcanic caldera called Taal Caldera. The latter was formed by large eruptions that happened around 500,000 to 100,000 years ago.

Ferris wheel in Sky Ranch, Tagaytay

Sky Ranch

Staycation-ing with friends? Visit Sky Ranch on your way to your hotel or inn. With over 14 attractions, Sky Ranch is among Filipino’s favorite travel attractions especially during summer. 5-hectare project is owned by SM Prime Holdings, Inc. Kids and kids-at-heart will enjoy the rides, food destinations and family-friendly ambiance. Entrance fee is 80 pesos.

Saluysoy Falls

Who’s up for some dipping in Saluysoy Falls? This hidden paradise is located in MetroTagaytay. To get here, take the Kaytitinga-Sinaloa Road in Alfonso, Cavite. Best for those looking for a body of water that's close to Manila and for those who don't want to end up with 90% of the population in Subic, Zambales.

Yoki's Farm

Another hidden gem in Tagaytay. is a property of Wilson's Place in Mendez, Cavite. You can easily drive here with help from Waze. It looks restricting at first because of the gates. Other than vegetables, it features animals like a mini-zoo!

Paradizoo Tagaytay

Paradizoo Theme Park

From a mini-zoo to a full-blown zoo. With a total land area of 10 hectares, this rolling terrain land boasts different areas like vegetable and flower gardens, an animal farm, and a lot more. You can get close and personal with cute and friendly animals for 140 pesos.

Bulalo Point Turo-Turo Grill

Now let’s go to food! When it comes to food, travellers say Bulalo Point Turo-Turo Grill reigns supreme. It is rated ⅘ stars on TripAdvisor and ranks 27th among the 200 restaurants in Tagaytay. Its edge among the other Bulalo restaurants is that it’s easy to find and was featured on Biyahe ni Drew. Go and try – after all, no trip to Tagaytay is complete without eating Bulalo.

Kookay's Foodhouse

Kookay's Foodhouse is located at 53 Tagaytay-Nasugbu Hwy KM61, Brgy Mendez East Tagaytay City, Philippines. It's open daily from 1:00-10:00PM. You can bring back the kid in you in this small but magical place while bonding with your kid or your favorite stuffed toys and unicorns. Here, you can wear Unicorn Onesies while eating colorful Rainbow Seafood Pasta and Carbonara or while drinking Twinkle Milkshakes. You can also play Jenga or Enjoy their Ball Pit in between.

Tagaytay Picnic Grove

This one’s perfect for families. Enjoy the cold weather with the splendid Taal Volcano or Taal Lake in the background at this popular tourist spot. Other than the picnic areas in a scenic hilltop setting, you may also try their zip lines or go horseback riding.

Preziosa Botanic Park & Farm Resort

This resort in Alfonso, Cavite features serene botanical gardens, campsites, themed villas, and recreation areas safe for kids. It started as a 16-hectare crop cultivation site before it became the famous farm resort that it is today. Villas are available at affordable prices for families.

Parting Words

After seeing this list, for sure you’re already looking forward to your next holiday! Use it as a reference and spend your time wisely. Make sure that you eat Bulalo, okay? Do something and go somewhere you’ve never been before to make the trip more memorable. You’ll definitely enjoy Tagaytay whether you go there with friends or by yourself.
