A propaganda for Vietnamese food cravings

It might be easy to miss this homey place when you're in Greenbelt 5 especially when you're not familiar with the mall. Missed our luck the first time. But we went back and returned again. What awaits you at Propaganda Bistro? Read to find out!

Born out of a desire to “propagate” delicious Vietnamese home cooking, relaxing ambiance, and locally-sourced art designs, this lovely, unpretentious dining spot serves flavorful Vietnamese food prepared with the freshest ingredients!

Outside this Vietnamese bistro is a friendly staff greeting diners a warm welcome. At times, her job is to ask you if you're willing to wait. "You're number seven," the staff told us the first time we came around. That's to say this place has a tendency to be packed during dining rush hours.

In case the visual help... or just use your google map!
The second time, we had a bit of trouble finding our way. So to save you the same difficulty, just head straight from the direction of Ayala Museum / Legazpi Street to Paseo de Roxas. Make sure you are inside Greenbelt 5 and on the second floor. Get past Krispy Kreme, Charles & Keith, Chilis Bar & Grill, you'll see Propaganda Bistro PH on your left, almost across from the escalator.

Inside is as cozy and vibrant as the greeting of the staff at the entrance. One might say there's a lot going on—the mural, the tiled floor, the couch, the napkins, the bar, the (slightly) open kitchen, the coasters, and other details—but all designs coordinate well to convey the bistro's character.

Interestingly, all furnishings are sourced and produced locally by Vietnamese artists. These include the great "Propaganda Art Mural".

Originally from Saigon, Propaganda Bistro PH is the first branch of Propaganda Bistro outside Vietnam.

The menu features a la carte spring rolls(Php250), rice noodle soup, Banh mi (Php300), Vietnamese salad, rice bowls (Php390), desserts—all made and cooked from scratch. Several ingredients are organic. Everything is fresh and authentic; 100% Vietnamese and healthy too!

I have a strong feeling that if Vietnamese cuisine is not your cup of tea, Propaganda Bistro might leave you thinking twice. Especially if you try the Beef Pho (Php450) and the Chicken BBQ salad with avocado (Php350). These dishes are bursting with the right flavor, you'd ask for more.

In case you feel a subtle hint of strange taste (say you try the hue rice noodle soup(Php450)), don't be bothered. Just add Sriracha sauce. A little of this chili sauce create wonders!

My regret so far is that I've yet to try the desserts. The recommended, however, are the home-made soursop and sugar cane ice-cream (Php170) and the banana in crunchy sticky rice (Php150).

Complete your Vietnamese dining experience with Vietnam coffee (Php165)! I prefer it iced! Or if you're looking for something fresh and tarty, try their iced teas (Php90) or a Soda Chanh (Php110).
